What do you do for relief? I’m 30w and I’ve never had this before, even with chronic lower back issues pre-pregnancy. Pain shooting down my right buttock/leg when I walk. I’m assuming baby is positioned on the nerve causing the pain, because it’s intermittent. I did go on a longer walk yesterday, but I walk so much at work, I don’t think that would’ve triggered it. I know rest should help, but even after getting up in the middle of the night from sleeping, the pain makes me limp. I’ll take any advice, specific stretches, etc.!

missemotional
Sitting on hearing pad helps me tremendously. I also have filled the tub with warm water and epsom salt and soaked myself for 15 minutes and felt incredible after. It just takes time though. No bending and trying to keep weight off the side experiencing the pain.

do you wear a belly bad or anything? I’ve started using kt tape when I’m at work and it’s been amazing at taking the pressure off my back. When it flares i rest, do a little ice and a little heat.
Exercises my PT friend gave me: donkey kicks, fire hydrants, hip abductors and adductors (obviously don’t overdo any of these)

Hip shifts have saved me this pregnancy and anything with internal rotation.

Hot showers, hydration, rest, pillow between the knees, and a belly band.

Can you see a chiropractor. I had this with my first and it turned out my hips were very out of alignment.

I had severe sciatic pain and the miracle solution for me was acupuncture. I cannot recommend it enough!!

Have you tried wearing a belly band? I find it helps keep the weight off of my pelvis which triggers my sciatica

I was having a lot of sciatica, but one prenatal massage and I've been good for a month!

With my first I went to a chiropractor and it definitely helped but it was temporary until my son was born (the pain literally went away when labor was done). Unfortunately my insurance doesn’t cover it this time around but I’ve been doing some good hip and lower back stretches before bed and they’ve been so wonderful. I wish I thought of stretching sooner!
Look up PregActive on YouTube. She has tonssss of videos for stretches for specific pain points (this is what I’ve used it for so far), different pregnancy exercises based on trimester, postpartum stretches/exercises, pelvic floor strengthening exercises, even exercises you can do while holding your baby haha. This is normally not my thing at all but stretching has brought me so much relief and her page is such a wonderful resource!

I had it nasty two months ago. Slow yoga stretches specifically for pregnancy back pain and sciatica. I did this 3 times a week and also small walks, use of a pregnancy belly belt and use a pillow between your knees. I had also two physio sessions
